Web Development Capstone Project
Stellar Shoes is a fictional business that specializes in men's shoes. The product made for them is a public facing e-commerce website as well as a company innerweb.
Customers can purchase shoes and track their orders. Employees can use an administrative side of the site to maintain store inventory, track customer orders and receive announcements.
I completed this project with two other students. My role involved front-end development as well as designing the overall look and feel of the site. We completed this application 100% remotely as a final capstone project for Columbus State's computer science degree.
Problem
Stellar Shoes is a family-owned men's shoe store known for it's strong customer service and fine shoes. In recent years, their customer base has requested a way that they can order shoes and then try them on in the store. They'd also like the convenience of shopping for familiar items online to have them shipped to their house. At the same time Stellar Shoes needs a way to effectively track their inventory and give pertinent information to employees. A website such as this Stellar Shoes web application will give store owners, employees and customers a way to do all that.
Solution
The Stellar Shoes e-commerce website is the solution that we developed to give Stellar Shoes and online prescense to merge their solid legacy of selling fine shoes with a modern online sales platform. With our web app, customers can order shoes for delivery or in-store pick-up. Employees can track orders, see store inventory and receive messages. Lastly, Stellar Shoe's owners can carry on their tradition of serving their community.
